Not sure it would work but worth trying at least once. Probably not more than once but who knows?

Smashed up fresh (or defrosted frozen) peas makes a very good replacement for avocado for an guacamole-like dish. All other ingredients remain the same as in the original.

Is enough hardware available yet, or do we need to continue along these lines? Presumably these (arguably more interesting) posts can be moved to the recipes thread in due course.

Since there are no benchmarks for gpuowl for any RTX 30x0 card yet it is currently a big mystery. We all wait eagerly for someone to get their hands on one and run some tests.

It is $1500, you'll most likely need to buy a new PSU, and you'll have to sell a kidney to pay for the electricity.

Based on raw DP numbers and bandwidth improvements, a 3090 might have 20-40% higher thruput than a 2080 Ti. 3080 might have 10% higher thruput than 2080 Ti.

EDIT:- Where are you getting your DP numbers from? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...orce_30_series gives a completely different number.

Once the supply stabilizes and the 3080 is back down to the MSRP of $699 then it could be interesting. Of course, by that time NVIDIA released the 3070 (Oct 15), AMD should have announced (Oct 28) their new cards, NVIDIA announced the 3060 Ti (end-October), and possibly some more higher-end NVIDIA cards to counter whatever AMD announces (e.g. 3080 Super or similar). A chaotic time in GPU land.

Like we said, we are waiting for them to get out as soon as possible, and for a lower price. That way, spoiled children who consider themselves "gamers" will sell their 2080Ti's for a lower price, and we will be able to buy more of those...

Yarrrr!!

All very true except for the PSU, which has about 500W to give yet.

Unless they go for less money than an RTX 3080, you're better off buying that one, as it gives better performance.

Some of the gamers that I've seen(on the Chinese internet) also think this way.

I think sooner or later 2080Ti would be cheaper since they have been surpassed by 3080, in terms of gaming. Maybe a bit higher than 3070, when it finally gets stable.

Those 1000W-level PSUs are finally gaining a solid demand.
