Default No Work To Do. Waiting.

I am new to GIMPS. Thank you sincerely for the multiple eye exams to get into the online forum. I am getting value out of our new relationship already.
I installed the software, established a user id and started work on a job. I think.
Then I decided to try the stress test as well. Computer ran for a half hour or so and seemed to pass. Then it looked like my work on the prime search job had stopped.
Couldn't get a screen in the app or the web site that looked like "Restart your job," so I reloaded the software and started again. Seemed OK, but now it says there's no work to do and I am waiting. How to get back to work? I know the infinite primes are still out there, waiting for us, and I do still have a job according to my account.

Does that line appear in your worktodo.txt? (If it doesn't add it after the first line.)
In your prime.txt file does it have a "1" or a "0" after "UsePrimenet="? It should have a 1 normally.

Thank you Uncwilly,

I don't have a worktodo.txt or a prime.txt file in the folder that I set up for this program.
I went to the web site and released the job that I did have so that while I troubleshoot I won't disrupt the work of the group.
I attached what I did get from the zip file, in my folder.

Your problem is with the way Windows handles the "Program Files" folder.
Move the Prime95 folder to a different location (either under "Users\XXXXX", XXXX being your user ID, or at the top level, C:\Prime95\). Windows does not like the .txt files to change in the Program Files folder. Make sure to stop Prime95 and exit before moving it. Restart it and it should pick up new work and write it to a worktodo.txt file. (PS, turn on the viewing of files extensions for known file types, windows is hiding them. There might be several files called prime and unless you see the extensions you won't be able to tell which is which.)

Thank you Uncwilly, that worked, and you have another computer running now.
Cool project. I'm happy to help.
