Mersenne.org should have a Why? section.

I don't like linking to two separate websites for the same project. When landing on the rieselprime page it's not directly evident that mersenne.org is the main website.

Well you posted on the Forum which is another page. GPU72 is another page that is a helper. Mersenne.ca is a helper site.

I'm merely suggesting there should be a https: //www.mersenne.org/various/why.php page. I think it's more than reasonable for the official web page to answer the "Why should I contribute to GIMPS?"-question.

Linking two different web sites via links describes the very essence of the WWW. If you go back to the early 90s and read some of Tim Berners-Lee's ( and others ) documentation and descriptions this stands out loud and clear.
