Even us Linux users are vulnerable to such expolits, for example the recent KDE one.

Well philosophically speaking, there are no guarantees in life, on-or-off-line.
I think only the idiots among the hackers will brag about having hacked your system, by letting you know about it. But fortunately there is always safety in numbers. They will have to self-limit their exploits before they render the entire web unusable.
