Anyhow, whoever wins in November, we can kiss any chance of real change and some progressive policies which provide material benefits to the bottom 90% goodbye. |

Because Iowa and New Hamster are soooo very cosmopolitan and have a rich history of minority involvement in politics.

Some concrete examples of DNC-orchestrated suppression of "problematic" classes of primary voters:
o Bernie lost 553,000 Votes to California Dem Party Rules | Greg Palast Quote:

But all that aside, Bernie did himself no favors - except for some late-breaking weak tea about Social Security, he failed to hammer home the myriad of very good reasons why anyone desiring change for the better does not want Joe Biden anywhere near the Oval Office. His vehement crtitiques were all along the lines of “we must get rid of Trump” – well, absent any real (and really well-deserved) hard, consistent criticism of his BFF Joe Biden that is tantamount to saying “anyone would be be better than Trump … including Joe Biden.” He professes to believe so strongly in the need for progressive ‘revolutionary’ change, but he’s unwilling to break any colleagues’ precious rice bowls to help bring it about. Does anyone think Trump could’ve smashed a similarly-hostile-to-him GOP corruptocracy in 2016 with “look, Jeb! Bush is a friend of mine…” and effectively going into the fight with one hand tied – by himself – behind his back? So disappointing – a non sequitur “polite revolution”. |

Sanders-Biden Debate Is Bernie's Last Chance | Matt Taibbi, Rolling Stone
Not holding my breath for a change in tactics by the leader of the Polite Revolution™. Was amused to see the following headline in the "Trending" box beneath the article: Mexico Considers Border Restrictions as U.S. COVID-19 Cases Rise. LOL, Trump may get them to pay for that wall after all, just to keep the gringos out: ¡La sola 'Corona' que nos quieren en Mexico es la cerveza! |

You don't have to be an expert to know that light kills beer -- turns it "skunky." That's why most bottled beer is put in brown or green bottles. The two exceptions that come immediately to mind are Miller High Life and Corona. They are sold in clear glass bottles. Corona implicitly acknowledges its bottled beer is skunky, by constantly sledgehammering the message that you should serve it with a wedge of lime. A bit of citrus, you see, helps mask the skunkiness of skunky beer. |

Some might dispute that you have ever tried a Corona ;-) In my opinion it is not as acerbic as typical german beers, but quite tasty and very apt for warm countries, even better then if pretty cool. In particular, I'ld say that it has nothing "skunky". Maybe it does not need green or brown bottles because it contains very little amounts of yeast. (or whatever may make some beers "skunky", if that's not a myth at all) |

Re. clear bottles, I don't think Corona is intended for any kind of long-term storage. "Skunky" may be result of UV exposure while-in-bottle, but less disputable is that it fits the pejorative "pisswater lager", which makes it the ideal hot-weather beer for me - only time I ever touch the stuff.
@kladner: Not nearly enough of a masochist to watch any of the Dem debates, but my impression from that self-flagellating fraction of the NC commentariat which managed to watch some or all of last night D-bate was that lyin' Joe Biden "won" by virtue of managing to get through it without any obvious bouts of drooling-and-slurring-words dementia, helped by the MSM-drawn moderators not asking him any actual tough questions about his long and dismal record, of course. November election - in whatever form it gets held, what with sports leagues holding "games without audiences" maybe we'll get treated to a "an election without voters" - looking like a Pick Your Poison deal, unless something dramatic happens between now and then to take one or both (likely) major-party nominees out of the race. The way Covid-19 and the likely economic impacts are mushrooming day to day, the odds of that happening are actually not small anymore. No small number of NCers are predicting a surprise nominee bait and switch on the part of Team D, dire warnings along the lines of "at the convention, after the shock of the Joe-Biden-is-unable-to-accept-the-nomination announcement has barely begin to sink in, who should step out from behind the curtain, tanned rested and ready, and resplendent in her royal-purple pantsuit..." |
