iteration time under XP

On my PC in the beginning the iteration time was 0.055 but, I don't understand why, the iteration time rise to 0.155.

Have you logged in and out different users on the machine with out shutting down? I have had this cause it to slow down on an NT machine. Also check and see what else is running, maybe something new is running.

Have a look in your task manager and see what is taking up the cpu time. Also, just to make sure, these times were both with the same exponent? A higher exponent in a different fft range could account for the time difference per iteration.

Finally, if you have a Pentium 4, you may disable the "throttle" of the processor...

I never use other user different from mine.

I check on the task manager and prime 95 had a cpu usage of more than 95%.

cpu time is more than 95 %.

The iteration time was increased while performing the test of one exponent

If you post the type of machine, CPU speed, and what exponent you are testing (or at least its FFT size) then someone can work out what iteration time to expect.

Maybe 0.055 was during factoring or P-1...

Possible during trial factoring, but it wouldn't be during p-1 as p-1 does not give a per itteration time. It just gives the total time taken.
