The high shipping cost? There's no 1st class option but only Priority for the 4.5 pound package weight. I ship the poster set flat and in a sturdy carton which contributes to that weight. If a 1st class cheaper option were available, I'd offer it.

For the shipping timeframe, in Amazon I specified 7-14 days. So it's probably adding a couple of days before I'd ship, not including weekends. So my math shows an estimate of about May 20 - May 27. Maybe Amazon pads their estimates to manage expectations. Not sure.

Actually that June 3rd estimate may interpret 7-14 days as "business days" and exclude weekends.

It's a 12 poster set that contains all 24,862,048 digits of M51, printed at a very tiny font size as we do with all of our posters. This is our first set though - lots of work, but fun. The total dimension is 73.5 x 49.5 inches give or take 1 inch if you overlap the small margins.

The digits are printed using professional equipment else they wouldn't be readable so small. On the flipside, if they were much bigger, there wouldn't be enough room in a house to hang this set. We also use a thicker paper so dents can be avoided.

One of our trademarks is printing small text/digits right through whatever artwork we add to the poster. In this case (see pics), we simply have descriptive text about M51, but the digits flow right through it. We offer a few different colors - not for the digits but the other artwork in the poster.

You can learn more from the link below or post here with questions (hopefully my post isn't considered spam).

Feedback is welcome. Thanks.

It will be on Amazon as well - the listing is still in progress.
I notice you have posters for M37 & M38...is there one for M36? (I found it)

That's awesome! I don't have an M36 poster though. I started with M37 and 38 because the digit counts made them very straightforward to do, given my printing style of using small type. Now that I look at M36 again, I see the digit count is about the same as M37.

I'm up for putting together an M36 poster. It will be 19x13 inches, like the M37 poster. Give me a couple of weeks (maybe sooner). Lots of product development going on.

Won't they fit into a standard blueprint shipping tube or triangle box? To protect the surfaces tissue paper will act as a lubricant. If they don't fit into a single box, tape 2 together. This might get the weight down enough for cheaper options.

If only. When I ship 1 or 2 posters I roll them and ship them in a tube. More than 2 is tough because I use sturdy stock for printing so it doesn't arrive to you all dented, and so it can also withstand some handling like putting on the wall and then deciding you want it on a different wall. I tend to pack and ship as if I'm shipping artwork, but I understand the shipping for this M51 set is high.

I have an alternate idea for packing the M51 set that would probably get it down from 4.5 pounds to to 2.5-3.5 pounds The real savings come from getting it < 3 pounds. 3 to 4 pounds isn't much of a savings from 4.5,

Just the posters are about 21 ounces.

At the other end of the spectrum, I could print on thin paper, force the set into a 5 or 6 inch diameter mailing tube or two and hope for the best. Or roll them lengthwise and fit in a thinner tube. But...they could be dented just from packing them this way.

Let me give this some thought.

$66 -- pretty outrageous.

Microprint: You might look at https://www.mersenneforum.org/showth...164#post516164 starting at post #27 for another international ship option. May well be more of a pain than it is worth (if it works at all).

That method involves eBay but also brings up a better option in general, where I connect with let's say an entity in Europe who will fulfill my international orders. I just need to ship them a bunch of products at once to have on hand. Thanks for the reminder. But I'm not quite there yet.

I'll read up on the eBay option in the thread and look into this in general, but I can't say yet whether it's something I'll implement quickly. As important as international customers are, I have to spend time on domestic as well.
