my reference matl blog took a major hit, hopefully temporary
Numerous past posts are null content though some have attachments and some still appear at least partially.
Not all is backed up locally or current locally. MIA content probably represents hundreds of hours of effort. I guess we'll all wait and see how good xyzzy's backups and vbulletin's support are. (Got spoiled/complacent about the forum's usual high availability and reliability.) |

forum issues last evening to ~midday (US CDT) had multiple symptoms

New posts' content during the period of the issue may be permanently gone. Some of us were deliberately communicating through titles and obligingly entering a bit of expendable content to placate the message filters during that time. I for one avoided editing existing posts during that time, not knowing whether the pre-edit content would be permanently lost, or the change lost. In the early going, there were a few posts with no content and no title, in various threads. I suggest the moderators remove those at their leisure.
