I have an i7 8700k processor and for it, I use Gigabyte Z390 UD. It's compatible and running well while I'm working with 3d and photoshop. I would highly recommend this one for these kinds of tasks.

Not to forget the graphics card for gpuowl. Here you can currently get a cheap Radeon VII (in Europe).

Mike/Xyzzy and I have been playing a little game of late in which each tries to tempt the other into purchasing some compute hardware he doesn't really need, but which would be interesting simply to play with. My recent offering was a used sub-$100 Intel Ivy Bridge NUC micro, that ended up being too much temptation for the supposed tempter, Mike declined so I grabbed it.
He just came back with this: https://www.ebay.com/i/202977104873 |

That's less than a TK1 development kit from Newegg: https://www.newegg.com/nvidia-cd575m...82E16813190005 (But NVIDIA lists that at $192. https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/buy/jetson-devkit) The photo looks similar tothe layout of TK1 development boards; http://developer.download.nvidia.com...cification.pdf Surely your dwindling cellphone compute farm is calling for reinforcements such as Mike's link. Get two? Hurry, they only have ~150 left. Last fiddled with by kriesel on 2020-07-14 at 15:03 |

They also state that they have more than five in stock.
For those interested, I can order them since I live in Germany. Who is expert in toll stuff? |

Forget this information, apparently DHL only delivers packages up to 120 x 60 x 60 cm for
105,99 Euro but with 31,5 kg weight to US. poor Last fiddled with by moebius on 2020-07-18 at 21:33 |

Am I reading that right, the €559 includes VAT? That means ~$640 within-Germany, def. a good price given recent trends. The 2 used R7s I recently bought on eBay, knowingly paying more than I wanted to due to desire to complete my system build-out, were ~$800 each. First 4 cards (1 new, 3 like-new) totaled ~$2000, so average cost of all 6 of my R7s comes to ~$600 each. Paying for the electricity, of course, is another matter entirely. :(

Yes, the prices in Germany must be stated with German VAT(MWST). The deal at Mindfactory is usually the best. Final price if I had the money available is 559, - Euro, since it is 23:49 in MET time.
