Are there any CAD designers (mechanical or else) amongst board members other than myself?
I think there is a commonality between CAD and math interests. So I was just wondering.

I have experience with a few AutoCAD programs (I can’t remember what they were called, part of the AutoDesk suite because we did architectural drafting too) from some introductory drafting classes at my high school. But most of what we did was either extruding 2D drawings, doing basic cuts to said extrusions, or setting up the environment with all the ANSI standards which was a pain in the butt! Most of the objects we were doing were mechanical parts, like hinges, standoffs/supports, etc.

I’m definitely not good at making even simple objects, it takes me quite a while to find the right buttons!

In the old days I wrote a GUI for a 2D-3D CAD using TurboPascal on MsDOS
Since then I worked with the POV-Ray group to offer a visual interface/help to their raytracing tool.

I guess this qualifies more for the math part than for the technical part...

Currently using AutoCAD 2016, AuotCad Electrical 2013, and Revit 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018 on the work machine.
Plus PADS for circuit board design, etc… at home.

Yes, currently using acad, solidworks, altium, corel, in daily job. Quite proficient in all of them.

In the old days I was a big fan on coding on autolisp for mechanical design.
