I think that they can be changed faster most people can fill their fuel tank.

This is from the article (I changed the color of the text):

Quote:
The law firms leading the suit are Renno Vathilakis and LPC Avocat with lawyer Joey Zukran. The class action was authorized on the grounds that Apple has allegedly failed to provide products that must be durable for a reasonable length of time.

Lawyer Michael Vathilakis of Renno Vathilakis said: “One of the issues is that Apple did not provide adequate information with respect to its products’ expected battery life.”
It depends upon what is considered "reasonable" and "expected".

The idea of reasonable would depend upon the circumstances.

If the battery is non-changeable (it is "integrated") then reasonable to me would be at least 20 years. But since that isn't good for the bottom line of the companies they would like it to be one day more than the minimum warranty period. "Oh your battery is dead? Just buy a new device with new and improved spying and tracking."

That is part of the problem and it is a slippery slope. You define reasonable as 20 years. Apple defines it as 1 year (I think). Someone else might define reasonable as 10 years and yet someone else as 50 years. It is very subjective.

Batteries are like light bulbs. You can use them one or two hundred times and then you have replace them because they have become weak and/or useless.

Oh your light bulbs have died? Just buy a whole new house.

I wish that batteries in all mobile devices were like light bulbs. I could say the same for all rechargeable batteries, including those that are easily replaced.
