Chesley Sullenberger was going to summit Whitney with his wife once and wisely turned around (they were close enough that a they could have made it, but they would have been too late getting down). So, not making it on your first try is not unusual.

A friend summitted San Jacinto this last week.

Yes, it was great. Brian and I were hiking in Belgium and Luxembourg, on trails that sometimes crossed into France or Germany as well.
It's fun to cross an international border marked by nothing more than a footbridge or cattle grid ("passage Canadien" in French)
- or, in one case, a polite sign simply asking us to shut the gate again after passing!

Vianden was freed from Nazi occupation on February 12, 1945 by the 6th US cavalry.

Thanks!

Tonight's the 13th full moon of the year, so I figured it would be a good time to post this. I found it earlier this month not far from that location, and its unofficial title is "13 moons". The rock seems to be around 10 feet (3 meters) tall, and the petroglyph is thought to have been an ancient calendar.

So if they had 13 28 day "months" in the year, at least their calendar made more sense than the Gregorian calendar we use today.

The year is ~365.2425 years long at the moment. 364=4*7*13

I suggest that we should have thirteen months, each of four weeks of seven days. Throw in a leap day every year and another every 4-ish years. This is essentially your proposal but ...

Alternatively, have four seasons, each of thirteen seven-day weeks.

Both of these suggestions have been made many times.

Something which people have tried with a good deal of success is a six day week, each day having 28 hours. Tried it myself once.

It only feels that long because of COVID.
