Option to prefer higher category work?

Is there an option for a machine to prefer (say) Category 4 work?

I have machines with enough credit to qualify for Cat 1 or even Cat 0 work, but occasionally they are needed to run non-GIMPS work for weeks to months at a time, during which assignments can expire. Increasing "days of work to queue" can only get you up to Cat 2, which really isn't high enough. Besides, I dislike having stale assignments lingering in queue. Similarly, manual testing isn't really viable; I don't want to log into a machine every time it is ready for a new test.

Is there a solution to this? Thanks!

Have you set this to "Your account is not set to get the smallest possible exponents."?

You should be able to get Cat 3 exponents by setting "days of work to queue" to at least 11.

Yes. I think this setting only affects Cat 0 assignments.

From the assignment thresholds page, to qualify for cat 3:

Computer must have enough LL and DC GHz-days over the last 120 days to indicate the assignment will be completed in 90 days.

So... if your computer isn't turning in that much, it'll get cat 4 eventually. But don't worry about getting cat 3 either, in your case. You still have 9 months to complete those, and if you're still managing to get assignments done in 90 days, then cat 3 makes sense anyway.
