For what it's worth the "JVR" (James' Value Ratio) column on http://www.mersenne.ca/mfaktc.php?sort=jvr is kind of what you calculate above, except 1-year electricity costs instead of 2-year. If you put "gtx 1" in the "filter/search" box then you get pretty much your above ranking in a couple seconds

Just saying.....
While looking a James' post above, Malwarebytes Premium alerted on the ibb link that it had blocked outgoing from Firefox. In fact, it keeps alerting that it blocked outgoing. The report is attached. Some digging turned up this discussion: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/209070-blocked-website/ I had not clicked, or even touched the link. Malwarebytes had a major upgrade in the last couple of days, which may be why I never encountered this before. Essentially, it says that the site has hosted ransomware. I'm just passing this along without further judgement. There are details in the thread linked above. It may be an excess of caution. Last fiddled with by kladner on 2017-10-04 at 15:51 |

My gtx 1080 runs mfkatc at 1100 ghz-d/day usually, and when I go 71 to 72 bits I can sometimes see 1200.
It's pretty good. |

It turns out that it will actually be less expensive for me to purchase kit, and pay for the electricity, for small jobs. The reason? I don't need ECC memory for this work. And a K80 doesn't actually do that much work compared to a consumer card. |

I've made my decision and ordered the:
ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1080 TI as it was now on 'sale' for €819 and comes with game voucher for Middle-Earth Shadow of War. It's predecessor was actually quite decent (Middle-Earth Shadow of Morder) so that is a nice extra. |

That should be just about the hottest thing going, ATM. You can probably push it pretty hard, too, on OC.
