Question transfer of 80% LL on 10M digit

I have a PC that has been running a 10M digit prime test, but I'm not really there anymore to activate the PC.

Is there a way to transfer the test to another PC,without loss of done work? To a PC with a different ID, or do I need to change the PCID to allow the testing to resume)??
(I can move the temp files, I have remote access to the HD)

Just move the temp file and worktodo.ini.
That should do it.
Computer ID and User ID are not relevant AFAIK.

Is the new computer part of the same team as the old computer?? If not, it may be an idea to email george to get it assigned to the new computer. That way when you report the final result to primenet, you will get the CPU years for it.

If the new computer is with the same team, it won't matter. You will still recieve the CPU years for the team regardless of what the computer id is.

On a similar subject.....

I have an old PC running a 10,000,000+ test and although it is only 2 weeks away from completion I want to speed it up!

What would happen if I copied the Prime95 folder from my program files and put it onto my new computer for a few days and then transferred it back?

Would it work? Would I still get my credit on the Primenet server? Can I switch the program over permanently to the new PC this way without losing work?

Cheers Guys n Gals.....

Yes, you can just transfer the whole prime95 folder to the "faster" computer. When you go to move it back, just delete the whole prime95 on the original computer and then copy the folder from the faster computer back to slower one.
