So several of my borged machines run into thermal throttling issues with their stock heatsinks, and in some cases I can only run a single thread.
Can anyone recommend an inexpensive, quiet (for an office) cooler under 140 mm in height? I'd like to avoid sleeve bearing as those die quickly. |

There should be no need to spend that amount. I previously have paid £25 for a cooler that is sufficient cooling wise for a 95W cpu. The only trouble is it was a sleeve bearing cooler and it now vibrates heavily.

Too bad that the CM Hyper 212 EVO is 159mm tall.
Your needs almost force the use of 92 mm fan models, or a "downdraft" design. Here is one of the former: ARCTIC Freezer i11 CPU Cooler for Intel, 150W Cooling Capacity, 3 Direct Touch Heatpipes, <23dBA Fan Noise |

My pleasure! I hope it lives up to its dissipation claims. At least it's cheap enough, if it works well enough.
I have also had issues with Cooler Master fans. They start to chatter when fairly new. I have a collection of them because I complained so much to the company. They kept sending them. Then I switched from the monstrous CM air cooler, to an H100i, and the CM fans became irrelevant.

I have had two arctic coolers in the past. The 7 pro lasted years but the one I am on now(I think 13) didn't last long until it started vibrating. The nice thing is that they are cheap.
