Problem: creating a team, tried several times

Hi. I have big problems creating a team. I have tried several times, different hours, night and day. Always same response.

I have searched on this forum for other threads only finding old threads about this problem. Please help.

The team description is limited to 50 characters.

The web form's team description field includes a size="50" descriptor which apparently does not limit the amount of data that can be typed. I'm not an HTML expert so I don't know what the proper solution is.

http://www.w3schools.com/tags/default.asp for input tags it says:

size number Specifies the width, in characters, of an <input> element

so size=50 only specifies that the width of the input element is 50 characters:

what you want is

maxlength number Specifies the maximum number of characters allowed in an <input> element

I believe.

I can take a look at it (unless James beats me to it).

Most inputs have constraints around it, and as noted, SQL did throw the error but it should have been caught earlier, thrown a friendly error to the user.

It gives me a thought that I should check the rest of the input forms for max length directives when appropriate.

And of course do not trust the data sent from the client to conform to any set limits. Always check on the server that things are what one expects.
