Yes, correspondence chess with software help is now the norm. And, yes, top human correspondence players impose their own strategic judgment on the analysis of their computer to inject a semblance of human competition into the proceedings. But I find correspondence chess severely impoverished by this development. I consider it a bit like a cross country running race in which all the competitors are running on wheels driven by engines, and the winning "runner" achieves victory by carefully steering to avoid ruts in the ground better than his/her competitors do.

I play now correspondence chess on chess.com where software help is not allowed and they have a good and effective method of detecting and banning software cheats.

You must be joking. This position practically plays itself to a draw from here. You haven't missed anything except the fact that you haven't missed anything.

Truth is, SF aimed for a draw. I assume it has quite a "safety fuse", like "better half a point than nothing", that is why it chose that drawish defense, and we didn't really "play" it, because we used the online DB until the position was almost a draw. Therefore I agree with you that this position "plays itself" to a draw, we can't miss a draw from here, except if we do a big mistake (a series of small mistakes is excluded, with so many eyes looking, )

(edit: I still wonder what the situation would be if we would have played Nc3 instead of Nd2 in the opening - the position is more dynamic and more undecided, but we also opted for the "safety" path there)
