ERROR 11: Exponent already tested.

Hi!
I asked Prime95 to do a manual communication, but it displayed:

Contacting PrimeNet server.
Updating computer information on the server
Sending expected completion date for M19430867: Mar 05 2004
ERROR 11: Exponent already tested.
The FAQ at http://www.mersenne.org/ips/faq.html may have more information.
Done communicating with server.

Any idea what is wrong?

Someone else who had not reserved the exponent somehow tested it anyway, I have no idea why.

If the exponent has already been tested, the work I've done (OK, my computer has done :) ) is obviously useless... ;-( But what should I do now? Unreserve the exponent, or waste another CPU time finishing the work and Prime95 will be able to ask for another exponent, or what?

That work is not useless. It will serve as a necessary double-check. Whether or not to continue is up to you. If you are near finishing, I recommend completing it. If you've just started little is lost by removing the entry from your worktodo.ini file.

OK, in that case, I'll finish it :) . (I am neither near finishing, nor just started -- 45.5%...) But, do the results get to primenet? It seems that the server just says that this exponent has already been tested and ignores me.

If you want the server to stop ignoring you, change the beginning of the line in worktodo.ini
from Test=
to DoubleCheck=

Although, if your exponent is not inside the current doublecheck range, it still may object - just with a different message.

After you finish this exponent, you can just click Use PrimeNet ... under the Test menu --> PrimeNet, so that the server will be working with you and not against you.

You can ignore the server complaints and allow Prime95 to cruch and report to the server. After you finish also email the results.txt line to George (Prime95) and he will ensure that you get credit for it on Primenet. 45.5% is goo enough that you SHOULD complete the exponent.
