Is there any chance of a reconsideration? My suggestion for the impasse is as follows: Re-vote, but people are only eligible to vote if either (1) they did not vote in the original move 18 poll, or (2) they are changing their vote. In other words, a vote identical to the vote in the original poll is invalid. Is there any enthusiasm for this? |

Sorry if I sound petulant. Is there anyone else who's unhappy about what has been done? |

Yeah, I was surprised at how quick it happened.

There was some consensus regarding forking the games. And if someone (say, Dubslow) had voted to break the tie, that would also be effectively a unilateral decision. I agree that it would be difficult for a person to fully participate in both the games simultaneously. |

I think if I had remembered to check on the forum before midnight as opposed to 15 minutes after, I might have voted for Qxb6... though I was of course extremely hesitant about actually doing such a thing, as I have not substantially participated nor put more than 10 minutes of thought into the decision.
I much prefer any variation of the fork, either simultaneously or sequentially. MooMoo2 has already expressed that he is okay with the former; I don't know if he'd be okay with the latter. |

![]() Of course us queen swappers would like to play ours first because we're confident that the game will be drawn more quickly than the rook movers. I have no problem in participating in both games. I have two chess boards with me at all times anyway, even when I'm out of town. It's the only easy way to do myriads of variations in any reasonable amount of time. I'm sure others situations are different though. |

![]() That would mean doing 19a first, as per axn's suggestion too. |
