I was talking generally, i.e. "strategically", and not referring to the near future. You may not have read the other thread where I said I have 4 Titans under the desk, waiting for a mobo, and another one waiting for some capacitors. I am not in for buying a Titan right now. What I want to buy now is a good x99 mobo.

However the tip with a person in Thailand selling a Titan is welcomed, I may contact him, I will have a look to ebay later today, thanks.

Not assigned to him again, but STILL assigned to him : note the assignment date of 2017-06-13. It will expire on 2017-08-14.Perhaps the 2017-07-18 LL result was reported using the manual result page.

Yeah... and normally I'd look at these prime reports and see if it could be legit (they never are, well, except that one from Curtis). But when someone reports 3 x 100M digit primes all at once, you do have to stop and think maybe they have a bug.

What amazes me is when people paste these results into the manual report form and they don't stop to think "wow, my exponent in the 332M range completed in just a few days and said it's prime". I guess they don't really understand how long it should take so when it finishes mysteriously fast they don't question it.

By the way, those 3 (and a bonus 4th one) were all done by CUDAlucas 2.05.1 which has been turning in buggy false prime reports for a while. Not to say that version is itself buggy, but something is going on where it gets into a funky state and breezes through the rest of the iterations super fast and spits out a residue of zero.

It's too bad you cannot determine the specific GPU type on which this is happening. Then again, it may not be just a GPU problem. The short-list could include RAM, or the lack thereof. which could lead to hard drive thrashing. I am not saying such activity could cause an error, but there is value in having enough room for the program to run without the need, or use, of a large swap-file.
