Hello, I am new to the search for primes and have Prime95 running on a few machines. Is there a list of error codes and what to do to address them anywhere? I was not able to find anything. I got the following error on my work laptop (see details below). I have been running Prime95 on this machine for weeks currently 20.40% of M33749789 primality test so I dont understand why I am getting this error. Thanks for your help.

There must be something wrong with the server. It is also discussed in the thread "Error 3: Exponent not assigned to this computer" in the server subforum.

Yes, many error messages:
ERROR 3: Exponent not assigned to this computer. ERROR 7: Server has run out of exponents to assign. DB-Library: Unable to connect: SQL Server is unavailable or does not exist. Specified SQL server not found. Net-Library error 2: ConnectionOpen (CreateFile()). PrimeNet server temporarily unavailable for reports. (256) The server may be momentarily busy serving another user's report - please repeat your report request after waiting 5 seconds. I'm confident the gimps team can easily recover from those errors. Anyhow if the CPU time proves useless, there are Folding@Home or even Moneybee. :-p |

Looks like the server is under attack again as it was a few weeks ago. Give it a few hours and it should clear up.

A completed exponent that one of my machines tried to send in on Sept. 30 morning also met with this string of errors.
As of now, the result still doesn't appear on my report page (the page still shows the exponent as checked out, with -2.5 days to go). Any ideas on how to get the program to resend the result? (I've tried unticking and then reticking 'Use primenet', but that didn't help) |
