A point which was made before the game started was that we need a time delay between discussion and voting. The reason is that we need to make sure that people vote after reading everyone's comments. And an example scenario of a pitfall of not arranging that is a position where we have a tempting but flawed (maybe losing) move: during the discussion we might identify that move and point out its flaws, but if voting has already begun by then that bad move may still end up being played.
