After 29...Qxf5 I don't see what they have to show for their piece sacrifice here. |

WMHalsdorf, why did you respond at once without consultation? 28...Kg7 was worth considering.

It's the only move that prevents the white queen from walking down to our king as you pointed out earlier.

(1) I don't recall saying that. (2) There are three of us in this team, and we should come to a joint decision (where possible) about the move to play. Please don't do that again. |

Maybe I didn't make myself clear 5-6 months ago when this problem came up before, so I'll say it again now. Not to be argumentative particularly, but because you don't appear to have understood: When I post a line of analysis, I am not saying definitively that I want us to play those moves if the opponents play that line. When I play correspondence chess, I always look at the position afresh when I receive my opponent's move, even if the opponent played the expected move and I had my reply ready. Perhaps I'm strange doing that. But I ask you to respect it, and to wait for both davar55 and me (if possible) before posting any move. |

Out of curiosity how well do you do playing blitz chess. |

Very perceptive of you. On www.chess.com my blitz rating hovers around 1600, standard around 1750, and correspondence (3 days per move) is currently 2038. So, indeed, I do better if I take my time. And, yes, I am a positional player, quite weak at tactics. What about you? Are you a player who does better with more time or better at fast time controls? And do you prefer positional chess or tactical lines? |

At that time my blitz rating was about 2100 and my over the board was about 1600. Basically the more time I have the more lines I see and the position becomes blurry until I see a clear position. |
