From the public thread:
May we please suspend the game between 1st and 14th of August, as most of us will be holidaying during this period?
How shall we react? My own view: we could be generous and allow them this time out, but we could also use the opportunity to request our own period when we stop if we have a time when several of us are away. Personally I've taken time away from work from 28 August until 20 September and may well be unavailable for a couple of weeks at some point in that period. Do you two have plans to be away in the coming period? |

No plans yet.
I don't favor doing them this favor, only because they've used most of the time so far spent on the game these past six months. However, if you think it's a quid pro quo, then fine, I don't object. |

I have plans and don't have much of a problem with sealed moves.

Do you know any specific dates regarding those plans? I'm thinking of the possibility of asking for our time-out if we agree with theirs. |

From the Move 23 thread where the discussion temporarily moved:
I won't be needing anytime off as things stand now.
Okay. Well here's how things stand so far from the responses: davar55: Would rather not honour the holiday request because of their slowness but does not mind doing so if we think it is a quid pro quo. No planned absence. WMHalsdorf: No problem with sealed moved. No planned absence. Brian-E: Would prefer to be generous and allow the time-out but would like to make it conditional on being granted a time-out of our own. Is likely to be absent for about two weeks sometime in the period 28 August - 20 September, exact dates not yet known. WMHalsdorf, as captain do you want to make a decision based on all this? |

Okay, so are you responding to their request in the public thread? Or do you want me to? |

Since you first replied it would be best if you finished up, to many cooks. |

My exact vacation dates are now known: August 30 until September 13 (back on September 14). Our agreement with our opponents and the arbiter was that we would be entitled to two weeks absence of our own in exchange for their two week absence, so one option is to request these two weeks.
But do either of you have plans to be away around then as well? If so, we could adjust the dates which we request to accommodate all three of us as best we can. Or alternatively we could forgo our holiday request completely. I will sometimes have wifi access during my vacation, and if I disappear completely you two could continue without me anyway. What shall we do? |
