Genocide
In 1995, 8000 Bosnian men and boys were executed in Srebrenica, in an area declared a zone of safety by the UN. The UN troops defending it did not get the air support they had been promised and could not hold back the Serbs. They were Dutch troops and the entire Dutch government resigned in shame at what had happened.
It now appears that the US, UK and France had agreed to withdraw air support and allow the safety zone to be overrun without telling the Dutch (let alone the Bosnian muslims).
