I will start polynomial selection on C183_127_118 tonight (expecting to run about a week on a GTX970); if someone finds an ECM factor while I'm doing that, so be it.

For what it's worth, I am currently running a few thousand curves @B1=3e8 on this number. At least that should minimize the chance of a p51 falling out of GNFS.

I'll run Stage 1 (18k at B1=110e6), and Sean will handle Stage 2.

Trying 12800@3e8 on C187_142_59

This will have to have a pretty stellar polynomial to be a GNFS number - the obvious SNFS polynomial gets a yield of 1.6 or so and 0.30 seconds per relation, the first GNFS polynomial out of the box is 0.54 sec/rel.

14/9 am: 5120 curves done, no factor found. ETA about 23/9.

Just be aware that VBCurtis ran 1600 curves @B1=3e8 (Stage 1) for this number and sent the residues to me for Stage 2. It will be done by tomorrow morning, but so far no factors found in ~1150 curves.

As to the issue of GNFS or SNFS, if a fast poly can't be found in short order I say go SNFS as soon as ECM is complete. My suggested list is based on estimated GNFS sieving times - it is only a guide. But I'm hoping ECM cracks this composite.

Completed 1600 curves @B1=3e8 on C187_142_59 with no factors found. I do not plan on running any additional ECM on this number unless someone requests it.

I've run 1500 curves @B1=3e8 on this number. Aiming for another 1000 curves by next week, at which point I plan to stop ECM.

C200_139_113 was factored on 30 August at 14:30, but I didn't notice the entry in the log file until this morning. Factors posted on the ECM-results thread.

Completed 2500 curves @B1=3e8 with no factors found. I am stopping ECM efforts at this point.
