The 25% increase in iteration times makes it sound to me like you weren't bottlenecked by memory in the first place. Or there's something else at play.

IPA @ 70% is 'rubbing alcohol'. At higher %ages it is not 'rubbing'. At much lower %ages I think they call it Indian Pale Ale.

The bottles of 91% isopropyl which I have say, "First Aid Antiseptic." 91% is the highest commonly available AFAIC. While alcohols can have more of the water removed from it, even at 91, it is very hygroscopic. Once you open the bottle it is getting diluted, though probably not as fast as the alcohol evaporates. (Note that 91% is equivalent of 182 proof in ethanol, not that different from Everclear, or lab alcohol.)

I keep the stuff as a cleaning solvent. Not only is it a good final cleaner for heatsinks, but in my job it removes lots of stuff like ink, marker, many adhesives, and human skin oils from stair rails and other painted surfaces.

It is pretty normal to run memory faster than the cpu "supports".
The latest Haswells only "support" 1600 but a lot of people run 2400 or higher.
1600 or 1833 should work fine I would have thought.

Yes. Adds a small amount of stability. But unless you're running ECC you still have to worry about alpha particles....

Well slap my face and call me Charlie! It's not something I've run across here in Chicago.

By the By: I see that Bimshire is considering ditching Queen Liz as head of state, in favor of a Ceremonial Presidency.

Buy it from Amazon (only ships to the 48 contiguous states via ground).

Haven't heard about that. Please expand.

Please keep in mind that this idea has been "floated" many times in the past. Our current Prime Minister, Stuart Freundel (who inherited the position after David Thompson died) is a lame duck -- almost never is seen in public and has never held a press Q&A.

The only thing the "D's" appear to have done since gaining power six years ago is changing the names of public buildings and highways. Almost certainly this change won't actually happen.
