Default Move 7

I think e4 is our best move here, because it is another defence of d5, it is protected by the Knight on c3 and allows our white square Bishop to be developed.

I prefer Nf3. We need to clear out our kingside so we can castle at some point, sooner than later. Here is the line as I see it:

7. ... Nf3
8. d6 e4
9. Bg7 Nd2

and we have a balanced center.

Either look good. Are we planning on fianchettoing on the kingside?
What is the best position for our kingside knight? Nf3 doesn't seem to do much. Would Ne2 be a better move for it?
I think I would go for e4 currently.
Knight from c3 to a4
7. Na4 Qa5+
8. Nc3

and our Knight is now pinned, which is helping to defend e5

I am not sure about fianchettoing. I would rather push our f pawn at some stage.

Getting our kingside Knight to c4 would be great for center control.

I still prefer Nf3 which is the "book" move in Benko's Ganbit Declined. We should plan on Nd2 to protect e4 in the next couple of moves per my line above.

I think their response to e4 will be d6 and then we would need to move Nf3 anyway.

Okay, I will swing the vote to Nf3 -- to me there is little difference in the order of moves

I am fine with that. Let's go for Nf3
