So many puzzles have strong hints in their wording, and I also got hung up on the use of "equation" here as possibly part of the trick. The equals sign doesn't need to be there, and since there is nothing on the other side it's not an equation.

Got the solution
hint consider the term (x-x) answer all the terms are multiplied by zero , to the answer is 0. Regards, Matt |
