Hello;
I am trying to stress test a new computer that has 60 cores (4x E7-4890 v2) and 1.5TB of RAM. When I run Prime95 v28.5.1 x86_64 and I select Torture test, run it with default options (blend I think) and 60 threads, after a whole bunch of windows open inside the application, I get an error. In WinPE 5.1 the error is: Prime95: prime95.exe - Application Error The instruction at 0x400093ae referenced memory at 0xffffffff. The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate the program. However, if I start with less than 50 threads, the program runs just fine. In WS2012R2 the error is generic, but more information gives exception code: c0000005 Should I assume that the system has faulty memory, or could this be a problem with Windows / prime95 binary? Thanks for your help! |

This is a known bug (Windows more than 32 threads) and has been fixed internally, but has not been released into the wild.
The best solution for you is to copy the prime95 directory. Start two instances of prime95 and have each torture test run 30 threads. |

Thanks for the update! I'll try that, or alternatively use the linux one (I actually just yesterday saw that there is a linux version of it!)
