Move 50

With our a pawn clearly threatened now, is there any reasonable alternative to the obvious 50...Bd2?

Threatening another knight fork doesn't seem to work: 50...Ne6 51.Rxa5 Nd4+ 52.Ke4 Nxd2 53.Rc5 wins easily.

50...Bd2 seems to be the only good move. :smile:

This follows my earlier line (although I had 49. ... Kf8):

50. Bc2 Bd2
51. Ke2 Bc3
52. Rc7 Bd4

I agree with Bd2. No need to blaze ahead though if anyone has other thoughts.

I'd be happiest if we play the move reasonably promptly since we agree and there seems to be no alternative move.
