When I reloaded the forum just now, I noticed that the font(s) used in the forum have changed.
This is in Firefox. I haven't closed/re-opened the MersenneForum tab, or closed/re-opened Firefox, so there shouldn't be any Firefox related changes there. I don't have a screenshot of the forum from before to compare/contrast with the new fonts. Is this an experimental change? Can we vote to have it go back to the original font? Is this happening to anyone else, or only me? |

I just noticed the same thing. Doesn't bother me. I'll get used to the change.

Same 'ere. When it happened the first time - I thought that I needed new glasses.
Change is the only constant in life. And even that is changing. |

We removed the hard-coded font references so that your browser can use the font that you choose.
(Does that make sense?)

I ask because I've just learned of a way to change fonts on specific web sites within Firefox. This seems like the perfect time to try that out!

Awesome, thanks! I can get it close to what I remember, but I can't seem to get it to 100%. Is the original css file still in the vbulletin_css directory? If so, can you tell me the name of that file? I see that there is a new one with -00002 in its name. If I could see the original I could get my workaround to return this site to 100%.

Hm... I wondered why everything looked different this morning....
It is not better, nor worse, just different. The actual fonts are much smaller, I use to make the text as small ass possible, to have as much text in front of my eyes as possible when reading - programming habit, to see most source code at once. I didn't know that the forum has hard codded thingies inside, and I didn't care, but today it really looked different and I didn't know why. It seems that it now reverted to some settings I did for other pages, which were ignored before, because of hard coded things. Generally I use non-serif fonts, which are easier to read that the multiple-inflorescence flowering fonts, with the only exception that I prefer the upercase I to have serifs, like in verdana, otherwise is easy confusable with lowercase L, etc. (well, they seem nerdy reasons, but all are practical reasons )TL;DR: The forum is still ok... no action needed. Thanks. Last fiddled with by LaurV on 2014-10-18 at 05:10 Reason: s/before ignored/ignored before/ (still don't know how is right, but the last sounds better) |
