I just submitted a bug report to Mozilla.

The wrapping issue is new to Firefox v36, but is broken by the CSS white-space: nowrap styling. Switching to the older <textarea wrap="off"> style makes it work again.

Been there... You may need to re-run the theme restorer after upgrading ff to 36 or so. Some odd things happened here too.

Now, my latest upload appeared in normal fashion, line by line. Go figure.

I wish my download video converter would also get miraculously better.

EDIT: Just saw your response, LaurV. On the Settings menu, I see Restore Defaults, Classic Preset, Firefox Preset. I take it that Classic Preset is the choice here, yes?

Yes, because I changed the <textarea> to avoid the use of what Firefox broke in v36

Many thanks! I did wonder if that was the case.

Is that a CSS styling I added? I feel like it might be... When I worked over the pages I tried to convert things to use CSS styling when possible to make it more HTML5'ish.

Yeah... I blame Firefox. Way to go FF!

If you'd all stopped climbing on the "upgrade" treadmill way back at a version number a tenth the size then you wouldn't have had this trouble.

We are using an older (31.5.0?) but current (?) version in Centos 7. Maybe it is considered more stable? (It still gets updates and stuff.)

Well, I could just as easily say people should be using Chrome instead.

I don't know what traffic to mersenne.org looks like lately (% of visitors with different browsers). I *can* say that at my regular day job, pretty much across the planet, Chrome is the top browser.

There used to be a weird anomaly with Chinese traffic where IE was the top browser, specifically IE 6. For some reason, IE 6 hung around in China for WAY too long.

There used to be this odd pocket of Firefox users in Germany for a while, but now Chrome beats out FF there, and Safari is the #1 browser of choice at just under 30%. :)

Hmm... just looked, and Safari is actually pretty high on some other countries too, in the #1 spot. I think that's mobile visitors which account for a LOT of traffic. If I look at websites where the audience comes from countries without a huge mobile market (Brazil, Argentina, etc) Chrome accounts for 60+ % of visits.

Anyway, Firefox is generally in the #5 spot or below with 5-10% of the visitors using any version.

There's interesting stuff to learn about countries just based on what browsers they use. :) And for the record, lots of people have Android, but not many use the crappy stock browser. :) A good 2 out of 3 use Chrome on Android. :)

-- Okay, I just looked at the latest stats for mersenne.org:
Chrome = 53.26 %
Firefox = 26.01 %
IE = 13.05 %
Safari = 4.21 %
Opera = 1.96 %

It's obviously skewed because people don't really visit the site from mobile devices, so it's a little lacking the heavy influence of Chrome and Safari from them. But there you go. Raw data, enjoy.

Oh, and while I'm at it, just under 80% of those are from FF 35.0. Whenever a new version of any browser comes out (Chrome/FF anyway) it's about 2-3 weeks before it overtakes the previous one. 36.0 is only at 4.92% currently.

You suggest the spying browser?

Maybe I should switch to lynx.
