I am trying manually to report new factors of an exponent that all ready has known factors with the manual testing - results page, but it just reports factoring result was not needed.
EDIT: NEVERMIND! It was my mistake. I thought mfaktc did a prp check of found factors, so I did not check. But apparently not because my factors was combinations of the known factors. Just curious will the manual result accept prime factors then even if there are known factors? I do not have any new prime factors to test with. Last fiddled with by ATH on 2014-08-31 at 13:11 |

Yes, it accepts new prime factors.
EDIT: It also accepts composite factors even if it's partially made of old prime factors as long as it has at least 1 new prime factor in the composite. Last fiddled with by legendarymudkip on 2014-08-31 at 13:42 |

Submitted factors are checked for whether they are prime or composite (and then factored if they are composite) which isn't too terribly difficult for smaller numbers.
As far as I know, the submitted factors aren't checked against previously known factors first just to check if they are the combination of a new factor and an old one. |
