Please keep going with the test shd. Your second tests are very important and will need to be done at some point in the project anyway. So they are not a waste. You may not be credited for them automatically but if you email George Woltman (project founder) at woltman AT alum.mit.edu with your result line after the test is finished he will add crecit to your account manually.

I just got one also. Exponent 35530793 had been on my individual accounts report for a while, and then today suddenly disappered. Initiated a manual communications on the node and got ERROR 11: Exponent already tested. Assigned to node MCRpc5 - currently at 78.6% complete and due to finish on 1/10/07. I'll do what the thread suggests, finish the LL test, and return the results to PRIMENET as a doublecheck. If my account isn't credited, I'll send my results file to George Woltman.

Now exponent 35530793 has re-appeared on my individual account report, the 'days run' value has re-set to .6 days, and the 'days to go' value is 5.4, with nothing in the 'date updated' field. This exponent has actually been LL testing for almost a month. My concern is that when it finally finishes and tries to send results to PRIMENET, that the server will say the exponent is already tested, and then the PRIME95 client will continue to try to send the results every 60 minutes. If that is what occurs, can I just send my results to George Woltman and then delete the results file, with the intention of starting a new one from scratch, to stop the client from trying to contact the server?

I have the same problem as the people above - the original owner let the exponent expire, it was reassigned to me, and then a few days ago the original owner finished it and reported the result to primenet, so now I get "error 11, exponent already tested." If I continue my test it will finish in a few days and can be used as a doublecheck. So should I:
1) Let it finish in a few days. What will happen when I report the result, with the original report still in the 'cleared exponents' list? or.. 2) Stall (by working on a different exponent) until after the 2/15 server sync, so that when I report in, the original report is no longer on the 'cleared exponents' list. (Would this strategy to avoid the need to report manually work?) |

Tha, are you sure that roy1942 will still receive Primenet credit for the work when he chooses 1)? IIRC that was not the case when I last tried it some three years ago.
Waiting until the exponent is removed from primenet (i.e. from cleared.txt) will on the other hand give you credit. When I last year finished the exponent I got from dominicanpapi82 here, I got credit for the full test. Roy1942, maybe you could later report back and tell us what you chose and what happened? |

Choose option 2. You will automatically get the Prime95 credit you should get.

Oh, I never took into account the crediting. Largely because I don't care about crediting. It doesn't affect the acception of the result by the server. That's all as far as my horizon goes.

Right now this exponent is not in the assigned exponents list. It disappeared from my worktodo.ini a few days ago, probably when I got the first 'error 11.' I put it back (in worktodo) by hand, and now it seems to be staying there. Why the difference in behavior? Does it depend on whether or not the exponent is the current exponent (top line) in worktodo? |

The removal happened even though there is a save file for this exponent showing that considerable work had already been done. |
