On second thoughts, we might move like this:
35...Bb4 36.Nxe7 Bxe7 37.Ra7 Nc3 38.Bg4 Ke8 39.Ra6 Bb4 40.Rxg6 Bd2 Looks okay -- sorry if this is not a new line
After 35...Bb4 36.Nxe7 Bxe7 37.Ra7 Nb3 (you meant that?) then Rich's move 38.Bf1 seems to refute as in the line in post #17. I definitely prefer your suggestion of the initial bishop check at move 36. |

Well, one thing which should focus our minds is finding out whether they are indeed going to play 36.Nxe7. So, should we get on and play 35...Bb4 in the meantime? Or does anyone think any other 35th move is worth considering? (We still have about four days, of course, so it's obviously fine if anyone does want to consider any other move.)

Your discussion aptly points out why I did the initial bishop check (to gum up their bishop). I'm for Bb4.

I too favour Bb4, but let's leave it to the last moment to play it

So do I favour 35...Bb4. Can I ask, Paul, if you have any particular reason for wanting to delay? |

Yes, I find the quick pace does not give me enough time to analyse the positions.

Just under 3 hours to our deadline as I write this. I assume we're playing 35...Bb4 then?
