Default Electron Flux

I have come across an android app that contains some very challenging puzzles.
The basic aim is to direct the energy from one side of the board to the other and you have to optimize your system for using the least number of parts and transferring the most amount of energy.

The app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...s.ElectronFlux

Can anyone solve all these puzzles? Can they get the perfect scores?

Doesn't that remind anyone Aeon Flux (not the sellout, the original seires)?

I introduced it to my daughter and we went together through about a quarter of the levers, she likes it, she continues by herself. We didn't find any difficult puzzle till now, once you understand how the tiles work. It is fun to play. [edit: it is also not a "forced solution" game, for many of the puzzles you can do a much higher score than requested.]

Here is another thing that you can put on your resume (in the hobbies section, don't push it) and not get smirks about it. After all, this MMORG ended up with a Science paper!

It is really bugging me that I can't get the optimal solution for so many of the levels. 1-4 is the first one I can't do.

I'm stuck on 2-4. 1-4 is the only one so far where I wasn't able to find the optimal. I got 8(98%) and 17(96%) on the score things.

I am getting 8(98%) and 154(64%). If you want hints for 2-4 I can provide them. That is the second level I have not got optimal for though.
I can't get past 4-2 whatever I do.

For that level, required is 16, but it is VERY easy to make 18, which is the "98%" you see, most probably. This is also maximum that you can make with only yellow balls, because you can only put out 3 of them, and each "costs" 6 points, because the other ball from the second flow, you need it to activate the laser (therefore is lost). Now, well, for this particular level, there is enough space to re-route the flow which activate the laser gun in such a way that it shoots itself, making the balls yellow (go immediately to the right, and pass through the laser, then input the yellow balls to activate the laser from the right, and not from the left), so you can actually put out a green ball instead of only yellow balls. This way you can get a 27, instead of 18. This is for sure something which escaped to the puzzle designers. I mean, it is a design bug, it is not supposed to happen. The "high level" energy laser/ball is introduced only later in the game.

Remark that you can not get both scores to maximum, either you make 18 Mj with the minimal number of tiles, and get maximum efficiency, or you make 27 Mj but for which you will need more tiles, therefore a lower efficiency.

Now, you can guess who was the idiot who made 27... putting all the other performers on 98%...
(I tried this trick for 1.3, but there is no space to hit the balls two times)

Fun game! So far I haven't played much, but it reminds me a lot of a Flash game called Manufactoria. Similar introduction, problem presentation, lots of similar stuff. Different problems, though, I think.
