One thing which does seem to get altered here occasionally is the little text, if there is one at all, between the user-name and the avatar as they appear by the posts. I think there really is just one person who can assign, alter or remove that text.

Apparently I'm also not the only one with permissions to change the title of this thread (which is a reasonable conclusion, but I wouldn't like to see it being abused).

Non-moderators can only edit their posts (to include changing the titles) for an hour after posting. Mods/supermods/admin can edit posts at any time.

Perhaps, but not always moderate restraint. (for the uninitiated, Xyzzy or some other supermod likes changing the titles of threads, sometimes many times, for humorous effect; e.g. that's how we ended up with a thread on atheism titled "A theism, a theism, my kingdom for a theism" and one on the gay debate titled "Could Married Guys be Leviticalized again?")
