Maybe someone can put me at ease, but I'm getting this vibe that the R9 295x is coming with an attached radiator... I understand why AMD would want to shy people away from using air on a 500+ watt card but I'd imagine people might still want to integrate this into a more customized solution. For my part, I wouldn't want to give this thing just a single 120mm radiator, and I'd hate to have to pay extra for a pump and radiator I don't want to use.

On that note, does anyone have experience with liquid cooling on cards that came with their own waterblocks? I was looking around, out of curiosity more than anything, at some 280x and 290x cards, and it seems a person has to pick between putting a really nicely built cooler in a box in the basement, or paying $200 - $300 extra for a pre-installed waterblock.

I think EVGA's Hydro Copper series is well-received, but I don't know about manufacturers on the Red team.

Why? I think I know what you are thinking, but... there are things called "reviews".

To your other question, EK makes a lot of the waterblocks for highend AMD cards I believe.

My understanding is that with the built in liquid cooling on 295x2, coupled with the fan, it's not really necessary to have a custom cooling setup. The non-reference versions might do this differently, but right now they all come with the closed loop liquid cooler and the 120 mm fan.

The suspense is killing me. You can't find this card for sale and yet articles have been coming out all day saying it's on sale. Technically, Newegg has Sapphire cards for sale since around noon, and Amazon has had Sapphire and other cards either marked up or from marketplace. But since it's reference card, I'm going with XFX for the better warranty.

My wife starts working full time as a nurse next month. Hopefully once she gets a few paychecks this card will be out. Also Haswell-E and DDR4 too. I can eat Ramen and rice and beans all month to pay for it.

I'm seriously dancing around the idea of getting one (or two ) of my own. The things my future wife is going to have to put up with
