My old PC, purchased in 2007 and put into immediate use on the GIMPS project on which it worked faithfully for more than 10 years, never ever giving a bad result and, in the end, spending about 6 months on each double check, finally packed up last month. It started reporting hardware errors, and the double check being worked on reported a rounding error (unheard of for the machine up until then). So I had to scrap it (and abandon the double check).
Nick immediately helped me acquire a brand new PC which has now been up and running for two weeks and already produced two matching double checks, spending just two weeks where the old one would have taken a year. So I'm not a dinosaur any longer amongst GIMPS participants.

We were able to log just a little over 70,000 miles on our motorcycle for 2017.
Maybe we can do more in 2018?
