So, I finally found a local source of mineral oil. $25 USD per gallon. Only about four times the cost of foreign sources.

I've purchased six gallons, and pored it into our three 1,000 gallon rain water tanks. Lovely to watch it spread across the surface of the water, drowning the mosquito larvae.

Previously we've been using something called "dunks" to poison the water for mosquitoes. But with the dunks at $ 3 USD per tank per month, the mineral oil will pay for itself in 17 months, and is "fire and forget".

Having experienced both Dengue and Chikungunya (but not yet Zika, malaria et al), I particularly enjoy killing mosquitoes. Evil, evil things.

You might want to ensure that the oil won't overflow if there is too much rain.

Congratulations!

Running, or even only walking, several kilometres every week can be very healthy. I lost 20 kilograms in about a year by joining the local Hash.

Wow 20Kg is about 44 pounds in Canada.
That is very good.
I lost about 8Kg the first year of running but have plateaued now.
In about 2 years of much more committed running my 28 (now 30) year old son went from 230 to 155 pounds (lost 75 pounds .... or 34 Kg).

He runs at least 80 (sometimes 100 Km) each week.
For me that is a very good month.

I'm now about 154 pounds. We don't have a scale in our house because we don't believe that weight is that important of a measure.

It is kinda cool that I can comfortably fit into 28" waist pants again, when I previously wore 34" waist pants.

(I won't bore you with how tiny Linda is...)

Your son should be careful about his knees.

my family would get made at me if I got that low in weight or pant size I bet.
