That looks a delicious pheasant!

I am still slightly traumatised by the summer-holiday day more than twenty years ago when Dad rang and said 'one of my clients has given me two teal as a tip; please come to the office, pick them up and casserole them'. My brother and I found some instructions, followed them, and produced a delicious casserole, but the evisceration process was memorably messy.

Default Huzzah! My GPU is good for more than making a whirring noise!

Successful double-check with CUDALucas (97 hours for M62046323), despite getting the

Code:
CUDALucas.cu(1878) : cudaSafeCall() Runtime API error 6: the launch timed out and was terminated.
Resetting device and restarting from last checkpoint.
message at least hourly and sometimes once a minute.

This is the GTX580, which has done two years of useful ECM and polynomial-selection work so probably should be expected not to be entirely broken. I will now feed it a week of double-checks, which look as if they take 41 hours at p β‰ˆ 42M; if it's still happy I guess I could keep feeding it double-checks indefinitely.

I cannot perceive any rhyme or reason for CuLu restarts (on a looping batch file). There have been times I think I have found settings which run without glitches, only to find that I had just experienced a lucky spell.

My biggest problem with these, is that they reset the card to factory memory clocks, which are likely to produce bad results, at least on the NVidia cards (460, 570, 580) which I have used.

How broad do you go wrt to opportunistic meat? Would you eat skunk, or snake, or maybe a biped?

We don't get skunks round these parts, the snakes are so small and rare that they aren't really food, and pheasants are bipeds.

We eat bipeds almost every day. They are delicious. People here call them chicken.
(Now don't tell me the chickens have 4 legs! That would be wonderful, but unfortunately is false. But we still hope the genetics will make 12-legs chicken... Or only breast.. For breast, we push the legs apart...)

Joking apart, when we lived in China, the Chinese could make a very delicious snake soup, which we tried many times. We ever ate dog once, we wanted to see how is it. We didn't particularly like it, so we didn't order it a second time.

No NOT 100,000 LL tests.
Hmmm even 100,000 tests would put me 3rd behind Every-One-Knows-Who (CurtisC) and No-One-Knows-Who (Anonymous)

100,000 GhzDays.
Just 1,184 LL Tests.
84.5 GhzDays Average.
After about 11 years of GIMPS membership.

Been playing correspondence chess on and off since 1981 (when it was postal chess of course), but I have never before been drawn against a Grand Master. Now, if the online identity is to be believed, I have a GM opponent for two games in a correspondence team match. Wish me luck.
