Default Problem Logging into GIMPS

Last week the GIMPS website appears to have been updated drastically, but I have not been able to login to my account since then.

The website shows that I am logged in with the message "mes4646 logged in" under the logo in the upper left-hand corner, but it will not display my Account Summary page. It always gives me the error message "please login with your account and password". Oddly enough, I can get to my Update Settings, CPUS, Assignments, and Results pages. All of my Team members have the same problem and none of us can get to the Team pages either.

Has anyone else experienced this reprehensible behavior? Does anyone know what the webmaster changed to cause this problem? I have been a member of GIMPS for five years and have never had a problem logging in to my account before.

Sorry about that. Please be patient as the web site is in the middle of getting a face lift.

You'll notice that there are 2 types of side menus. When you login and navigate from page-to-page, as long as the side menu does not change you are OK. Once the side menu changes you've been logged off. Log in again and you'll stay logged in until the side menu changes again.

As of right now, the following pages still use the old-style side menu:

donate
benchmarks
all team pages
user update settings
v4_migration
assignments

So, to see your team data:
1) Click the team summary link
2) Login
3) Again click on the team summary link
4) Only navigate to the pages listed above.

On the CPUs page, if I click on one of my CPU names, it takes me to the other style login page. Logging in just goes to my summary page. Instead of clicking on the CPU name, I first need to right click on it, and click on "Copy Link Location". I can then do a normal click, go to the other style login page, log in, and then paste the saved link in the address bar, to actually get to the Computer Properties page for the selected CPU.

Great. I was going around and around getting logged on and logged off and thinking "you can't get there from here..."

Thanks for the prompt response. I will be patient....

The new pages I have seen look good; they have a nice clean feel to them.

I am curious about some of the new features of the Reports. First, the current limit of expos to report is way bellow 100 expos/lines. If one wants a range say from 556,000 to 557,000 in the best case you get 2/3 of the range (it was not the case before). I found the previous 100 lines limit low, but now is even lower. Second after a successful facorization, the LL results stay, which again eats from the limit of the report. There is no big point of reporting the old LL checks if it is not done for all expos (for those which has been factored before the face-lift). Third, at least for me it is hard to see if an expo is assigned and for what type of work, when looking in the "report_exponent" report. I am sure that we are in the middle of the change, but still those things will stay right?

Limit upped to 1000. It looks like it could be higher without much of a server impact.

Thank you, I appreciate this change.
Are you going to keep old LL results in the report in case a factor is found already, or you are planning to filter those after the transition to the new interface is complete?

Don't know. It is in my list of things to look at.
