Here in the Netherlands (with under half an hour to go), everyone is eating their oliebollen
and the fireworks are going to be obscured by thick fog.

We wish you all 53 enjoyable weeks in 2020!

Huh. Here in the good ol' USA (where it's still 2019) we pride ourselves on "Bigger is better." But it looks like you guys have turned the tables on us. Here, we have "doughnut holes," which are the fried-up bits of dough punched out of doughnuts to make the holes. They're a year-round offering.

But you guys have super-sized 'em! And then gone one better, and made them a special New Year's treat!

My hat's off to you.

I usually find some other base where the new year number is something fun.

If you use GMP bases with "A-Z" being digits 10-35 and "a-z" being digits 36-61 then:
2021₁₀ = Wb₆₂

I will take this as meaning "Welcome back" to normal life during 2021.

(BUT: 2021₁₀ = if₄₅ , so only *if* we take care of each other and follow the restrictions)

Here in the good ol' USA, the new year has not arrived just yet. Public New Year's festivities look to be rather muted.

Many of us are hoping for a return to some semblance of sanity in the near future.
