In anticipation of their move, and in the same time the last thread bothering cheesehead (because of the zeroes at the move number :P).

Next weeks I will travel abroad (to Germany, for at least one week, most probably two). This is the "visit to the customer" I am talking about since mid of August, which was delayed for different reasons.

I don't know how I could access the forum from there, I will have one of these laptops with me, but there is no way I could take the chess board, hehe. Most probably you will play one or two moves without me, there is no harm done, you are fully able and capable to do so.

Anyhow, in this phase of the game, my help is not really useful. I have learned a lot about this opening since we started to play chess on the forum, but yet, my analytic skill would be better used in the midgame and endgame when there will be less pieces on board :D

So, for sure, we won't need to "give the move in the envelope" (I said in the past that I will google for this term, but I already forget it, I am sure there is an English term for it). [edit: it is called "adjournment"]

Anyone from the team is "authorized" to post the move, once you agree with it. This is the "worst case scenario", or "just in case" version, because I still hope that I will be able to regularly access the internet and the forum in the evenings, when I will return to my hotel, after those guys from the customer side will be done with their daily job of punching my face and kicking my butt..

Well, they were fast...

I may give other small points to other moves that may come into discussion, especially on the queen side (their move was quite as expected), but the main line of my vote you know already:

Nf3 5 points, and
Nge2 4 points.

The whole point of Nd1 was to play c3, right?

without the board in front of me, except the one Batalov posts in the main game thread, I don't like c3 anymore, after that b5.... Here the problem was from the beginning with Nd1, I thing. I might be however wrong.

Very cold here in Germany this time... brrrrr
Revised move values.
c3 5 expected reply either b4 or Nge7
If 9 c3, 9 ... b4 is the logical followup. (If 9 ... Nge7 10 Bh6 could mess up the Black K-side. Black has to either castle immediately or not at all. If 10 ... Bf6 or 10 ... Bxh6, Black's not going to castle later.)

How about 9 a3 first?

Then if 9 ... b4
10 axb4 (and our QR is activated)
If 10 ... cxb4
11 c3 bxc3
12 bxc3

If 9 a3 a5
10 Ra2

a3 does seem better than c3 since it kind of forces black to commit to a queenside assult without the possiblity of castling king side or castle kingside and lose the bishop that controls the black squares each possiblity is fine with me so a3 would be a better move. So we both agree with a3.

As decision time is approaching:

a3 - 5

and since by rule I must include at least two others:

Nge2 - 2
Nf3 - 1

I like a3 as well and would give it 4-5 points. I believe that gives it the majority of votes.

Since our captain is away who will post the move?
