I'm comfortable playing anything except Nf3, to much to think about in those lines.

If we're going to avoid 2 Nf3 (which I like -- best challenge to Black, but, yes, maybe requires much thought), there's 2 Nc3 (saying we'll do better than they did -- direct challenge to Geckos).

If 2 Nc3, I would like 3 f4 (rather than 3 g3) to follow after most Black 2nds.

If not 2 Nc3, I like 2 f4 or 2 d3.

Indeed, the 2 Nc3 is an "aggressive" provocation for them :w00t:, as well as any path of "closed sicilian" we may take (actually, after few moves, they are the one who chose the path, if we follow this).

I like all 2.Nf3, 2.Nc3, even 2.e5 (aggressive, but we lose a tempo in development, give them the sente). When playing with friends we use to do Bc4 or Qf3, forcing the opponent to move to avoid the childish mate in f7, but of course this would be a "not so fortunate" move in a correspondence game, when the adversaries have time to analyze the moves, and they talk each other.

So, how should we continue from here? For me is indifferent, in this so early stage. As I said, I am not an "opening expert".

For 2.Nc3 I expect one of the following, any of which I'm fine with.
2.... e6 3.g3 d5
2.... Nc6 3.g3 g6 4.Bg2 Bg7 5.d3 d6 6.f4 e5
2.... Nc6 3.g3 g6 4.Bg2 Bg7 5.d3 d6 6.Nge2 e5

Ok, the continuations seem ok for me, therefore, in case there will be no objection till tomorrow evening when I come back from a short weekend walkout, then I am going to post [B]2.Nc3[/B] (about 30 hours for now). If I forget, or don't come back in time, then anyone from the team can post it.
