Brian, where are you going this year?

I'll be away in New York July 29 to August 12 but will have internet access at my Mom's home. My granddaughter will be meeting the rest of our families at 11 months of age!

New York is one city which I fully intend to visit at some point in my lifetime. I guess you're very familiar with it since you have family there, but for me it would be a starry-eyed experience.

I'll be on a cruise in the Mediterranean. We start and finish in Barcelona, and I hope to have easy internet access from the hotel there, but on the ship we'll have to make do with dodgy, very expensive satellite links, and I only anticipate very occasional contact in that period if any at all.

I have a couple of absences soon as well. 27 July - 3rd August I am am stewarding a conference while camping. I might get to the local McDonald's a couple of times.
18th-27th August I am cycling in France. I don't expect to find internet here.

Hi gents,

I will be in Italy 17 September to 1 October doing a walking tour of Tuscany. I (hopefully) will have internet access via my iPhone.

While some of the team are up to their eyeballs starting a new job (congratulations and good luck, David), others have the luxury of going on holiday. I'll be on a short break in Luxemburg from Tuesday 4 November until Sunday 9 November. I hope to have wifi access and to still be around. But if I vanish in that period, then please expect me back around 9 or 10 November.

Thanks. I expect you'll choose a more sensible time of year to go when you do. Wind and rain are forecast, as anyone would expect in November. Not that you're any stranger to bracing the elements, and Luxemburg doesn't have anything like the fantastic mountains, forests and deserts of California that you're used to anyway. It's still pretty nice hiking terrain in Luxemburg though.:smile:
