LaurV has posted the move 35...Bxd4 with the opinion that we should resign.
David's suggestion, a few moves ago, that we should ask our opponents for their opinion on this has been pre-empted, it seems. I suggest resigning now. |

I think I am coming around to the idea of resigning.

Reading the posts in the other thread makes it clear that they expect us to resign. I am ok with resigning, and offering them a "Well Done" and thanks for the good sport!

Yes, I agree with Rich about the sentiments we should express to the other team. They played very well and we can safely congratulate them! David, would you be able to do that for us as our team captain if you agree?
I'd like to express my appreciation for your competent captaincy during your very busy year of studying, David, and also for the harmonious way we have all co-operated with each other to agree on each move in what turned out to be a really well played game. It's been an interesting and very enjoyable exercise. I'd be delighted to work with you all, David, Rich, and Pace too if you return, again in any new game that gets organised. |

Looks like it finally time to take the plunge.
Thanks everyone for being a really easy team to lead and putting up with me when I have been busy. It has been a pleasure playing this game. Everyone has given their all. All in all I think that we matched the aim of this game which was to have fun. Congratulations on a game well played even if we didn't win. |

David, Brian, (and Pace too if you return), thanks very much for your friendship and teamwork over the months! I too have had a great time and appreciate your patience when I couldn't respond immediately.
I saw the comment in the Vote Chess thread that we got out of the book line too early which resulted in our eventual loss. We knowingly did this, and my response is nothing ventured, nothing gained! |

Last time I looked at it, I think it was move 13 I decided we made an error at.

I agree with you both. 13.g4 turned out badly, and I regret pushing for us to play that move myself. And I don't think selecting the Closed Sicilian as an opening was an error as such.
