I hadn't used it in a while, so I did some updates for clLucas 1.04, and tested that it works with a double check from mersenne.org. |

Hey Mike, just playing with an OpenCL card and trying to dld clLucas 1.04 from the mirror, it is not there... This sent me digging through the thread... Maybe you can add it?
(I am talking about www.mersenneforum.org/cllucas mirror) |

We can add files but we would prefer to let him do it. Or if he is willing to let someone else upload files he can share the login info. It would be nice to have things up-to-date.

He seems not active for a while. I am sure he will not be upset if you add a folder with the same name style as existent. The last clLucas is in this thread few pages back. I will PM him anyhow, maybe he is not reading this. He is a good guy, but anyhow, if he gets upset, then I will give him back the LL/DC credit he gave me by mistake few years ago,
hehe... (for the people who don't know the story, we used to exchange credits in the past, I had at the time lots of GPU power, but no CPU power, and I was producing TF credits and reporting for him (and other people), and he was doing LL/DC and report it for me; then when we decided to stop this "trade", he forgot to switch one of his computers (change the user name back), which still continued to produce for me; of course, I intentionally didn't notify him for a while, hehe, bad LaurV! , but he didn't get upset; anyhow, it was fun...)

Warning: Couldn't parse ini file option SixStepFFT; using default: off (Except for 1.044's bz2 including the SixStepFFT material in its clLucas.ini and so presumably not generating a warning, I don't know whether any other packages have that warning issue also.) Hi,
Many cards support OpenCL, of various version levels. What OpenCL version level support is required for clLucas to operate fully? Are non-AMD gpus supported? Are there additional drivers, dlls or extensions that must be loaded? I tried running v1.04 clLucas_x64 -info on a system which CPU-Z indicates has an Intel based GPU, supporting OpenCL, and got Platform 0 : Intel(R) Corporation Platform 1 : Intel(R) Corporation Warning: Couldn't parse ini file option SixStepFFT; using default: off Error: NULL platform found so Exiting Application. The hardware I ran this on is OpenCL C 2.0 capable. |

The attached contains some observations made while getting familiar with cllucas 1.04 for Windows. As always, it is shared in appreciation of the efforts of the code author and those who helped in the early development and testing. Where applicable I've included pointers to thread posts. Please PM me with any additions or corrections. This particular list is based on less usage than others I've made for other software (partly because I only recently acquired AMD gpus).

I was offered "a blog area to consolidate all of your pdfs and guides and stuff" and accepted.
Feel free to have a look and suggest content. (G-rated only;) General interest gpu related reference material http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=23371 clLucas Lucas-Lehmer primality testing with OpenCl on gpus http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=23401 Future updates to material previously posted in this thread will probably occur on the blog threads and not here. Having in-place update without a time limit makes it more manageable there. |
